Yo Natasha, I want your jeans.

I don't think Natasha Ndlovu, of Snow Black Blog, knows just how much I love her style. Those Miss Selfridge jeans - j'adore!

My girl's Edita Vilkeviciute's killing it as a boxer in this Lachlan Bailey-shot beauty feature for the April issue of Vogue Paris. It's different for a beauty shoot, but I do like.

SA Fashion Week is next week!

SA's got talent: Reptilia-inspired shoes from Suzaan Heyns' beautiful A/W 2012 collection shown at SA Fashion Week.

I am super excited about attending SA Fashion Week (SAFW) Spring/Summer 2012 which runs from the 29th of March to the 1st of April at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Rosebank, Johannesburg.

Incredibly, 41 cutting-edge designers will be showcasing their collections at the event, including some of my favourites Suzaan Heyns, Black Coffee and Fundudzi by Craig Jacobs. How incredible is the fact that Suzaan Heyns will incorporating PPC cement into the construction of some of her garments for her show on the 31st of March? Talk about originality.

Do check the SA Fashion Week website for the schedule. I cannot wait!

Show love to Avant Apparel

Although their A/W '11/'12 showing at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Johannesburg was earlier this month, I just had to show some love to one of my favourite South African fashion labels Avant Apparel.

The women behind the brand are LISOF graduates Alison Bailey and Lauren Du Plessis and boy, did they bring it! Everything from the flowy maxis, capes, architecturally constructed garments, to the sheer this, that and the other, was super chic. If this is the future of South African fashion, dude, I'm in love! I want this entire collection.

Guess who's in Glamour!

Whoop whoop. Yes, I am in the "Class of 2012" feature in the April issue of Glamour South Africa, with Funeka Ngwevela, The Quirky Stylista! So we were dressed up as barbies - wigs, 3 sets of false eyelashes, and all.

I love the two-tone Cleo Droomer dress I'm wearing in the picture. The yellow part was actually hard like a very chic armour. The cool Suzaan Heyns fingerless gloves and Rags & Lace shoes complete an outfit I really, really want to own. The necklace is from Joanna Claire Jewellery - you should be on the look ou for Joanna, her jewellery is amazing.

Thank you again to Glamour for the love, and do get your copy!

Filling the GAP

Well guess who's coming to South Africa. Yes, super US casual-wear giant, GAP, is opening two brand new stand alone stores in Sandton City, Johannesburg (on the 19th of March) and at the Tygervalley shopping centre (on the 20th of March). I must admit that GAP will have to deal with some stiff competition what with the SA retail market being so saturated.

But, I do hear they'll be discounts at the launch... That basically means I'll be there. Since some cold weather is coming our way hear in Joburg, I could use a staple item or 5...

'Swept Away'

Josh Olins captures Jourdan Dunn and Daria Strokous in some chic ladylike looks from the latest Spring collections in this editorial for the April issue of Vogue Japan. Sporting matching shot hair-cuts, Jourdan and Daria are clad in Marc Jacobs, Versace and Emilio Pucci, amongst others, as they get swept away by the cool tropical vibe.

Psst

Excuse me as I catch my breath...

1) Joshua Kissi and Travis Gumbs, of Street Etiquette, are two of the most stylish men out there.
2) Men of the world, please dress like this.
3) If I met Travis Gumbs (r) I would be speechless.
4) Travis Gumbs is beautiful.
5) Ok. Breath caught.

Tell 'em Lindsay

This is a cool picture, but no, this post is not about Lindsay.

It's about the man next to her - Terry Richardson. He is one of my favourite photographers and he happens to take some really provocative, but fun photographs (with the coolest celebs, sometimes, might I add).

There's a Terry Richardson exhibition currently on at Oh Wow in West Hollywood (aptly titles, Terrywood) that'll be up through March (yeah, I'd kill to see that). But if you, like me, are not in L.A, do yourself a favour and check out some of his super work on his blog, Terry's Diary.

Oh, and he likes models...

Cobalt blue snakeskin shoes from Zara. The tassles seal the deal for me. Fire.

Ah, Paris

The Autumn/Winter 2012 fashion season has come to an end. Now if you me, you'll know of my absolute adoration of Lanvin and Balmian. Of course, they both did not disappoint in their showings. Here are some of my favourite looks from their collections:

Perfection.

That is the word that encapsulates Lanvin's Autumn/Winter 2012 collection shown recently at Paris Fashion Week. Alber Elbaz, Lanvin's creative director, celebrated 10 years at Lanvin with this collection which featured a number of his "greatest hits". Now you know Mr Elbaz makes dresses that absolutely elevate a woman's shape, so body conscious silhouettes were abound with additions of fur, lace accents and those great ruffles he does so well.

And the colour palette - amazing. Elbaz took us all the way from electric blue, through canary yellow, to black with some garments filled with jewels, and a touch of metallic fabrics. Again, the the chunky jewellery will prove to be a fan favourite, and quite simply, everything here is my favourite.

I'd kill to be the Lanvin woman any day.

It may only be his second season at Balmain, but French designer Olivier Rousteing's got me.

Jaw drop.

It's not Christophe Decarnin's Balmain, but the classic reference is still there. Those firm shoulders are there. The military-inspired jackets, embellishments, sleek cuts, and sexy silhouettes are all there, as we've come to expect from Balmain. But Olivier continues Balmain's evolution, taking it increasingly fashion forward in a direction all his own. And you know what - I love it (boxiness and all). Those velvet pants and super short dresses are incredible.
